Operational Support Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide first line support for several systems in the Data domain
  2. Monitoring systems via various tools/dashboards, take corrective actions in case of issues
  3. Ensure systems are in a healthy status and suggest pre-emptive maintenance
  4. Handle user communications during and after incidents
  5. Liaise with development teams for escalations and hand-overs
  6. Maintain an up-to-date documentation of support processes
  7. Help to prepare operational stats to identify problematic areas or systems

Required Experience:

  1. 3-5 years experienced professional who has worked in a similar support capacity.
  2. Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow/Ivanti
  3. Experience of writing documentation in a system such as Confluence
  4. Should have excellent written/verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Should have basic understanding of technology to be able to add value in maintenance/development in medium term. Opportunity for a technical mind to slowly transition to a more development/maintenance role.
  6. Working hours will be normal India/UK timings, with on call support requirement on rotation basis withing the team.

Required skills:

  1. Excellent written/verbal communication/Analytical skills
  2. Experience in support/monitoring roles
  3. Entry-mid level SQL
  4. General understanding of software engineering and related technologies

Desired skills:

  1. Entry-mid level expertise in a development language such as Python or .Net
